Government of Nepal has opened another 103 Mountain Peaks for trekking and mountaineering purpose in 2002, in addition the Total Number of Peaks has reached 263.These peaks are climbed by fewer groups, and Most of them are not climbed yet.

Nepal Mountaineering Association has authority to issue Permit through Government registered Trekking Company, NMA has categorized Peaks in two section giving GROUP B includes 18 Trekking Peaks and Group A 15 Trekking Peaks.
Government of Nepal has announced partial and total exemption of Royalty on 60 Mountain peaks. The new are announced with the view of to promote trekking and Mountaineering other part of Country. Some Mountain are 100 percent Royalty Free; are 20 Mountain Peaks.
Some are 75 percent off Royalty free are 40 Mountain Peaks

To help carry out its objectives, the government of Nepal has authorized the Nepal Mountaineering Association to issue permit for following peaks mentioned in the region from altitude 555m to 6,654m ranges in the Khumbu, Langtang, Annapurna Manang and other remote regions. Nepal mountaineering association has fixed the permit cost categorizing two group A and B, which has differentadventure and Permit fees.
Nepal Mountaineering association offers following fees for trekking peaks. The association has divided fees in two section giving Group "A" and Group "B" Group A NMA Peak (New).
Fees structure for Group "A"NMA Peaks
- Royalty for up to seven members (01-07 Pax): USD 500.00
- Royalty for each addtional member up to 12 person USD 100.00
Note : Maximum number of members in a team is 12 pax.
Garbage Deposit for all 33 NMA peaks : An amount of USA 250 should be deposited to NMA as garbage deposit to get permit to all 33 NMA Peaks.The refund shall be made as per the provision made by NMA.
Fee structure for Group B NMA Peaks
- Royalty for up to four members (01-04 ): USD 350.00
- Royalty for (05-08) members:USD 350 Plus 40 USD Each Person.
- Royalty for (09-12) members:USD 350 Plus 25 USD Each Person.
Note : Maximum number of members in a team is 12 pax.
